||Jacket - H&M ||
On a recent shopping trip, I purchased a new summer jacket, that would be much lighter than the heavy duty leather jacket I'm used to. I absolutely fell in love with this printed bomber I discovered in H&M; it's so versatile for many occasions and it looks great layered up!
Therefore, here are my five favourite ways to wear the printed bomber, inspired by the trends of SS14!
1 | LIGHT LAYERS
|| Waistcoat - M&S | Top - Topshop | Chelsea Boots - Topshop | Jeans - Joules | Bag - Mango | Watch - River Island ||
This outfit is very much a day-to-day ensemble that could be worn out shopping/school/etc. Even in the summer, I love to layer clothing with many light layers to create an interesting look. For this outfit, I combined a light purple/grey waistcoat with the printed bomber to look as if it was one piece - a jacket with a collar. The studs add embellishment to the jacket without be overpowering with the print and wearing a block colour waistcoat rather than a printed one, emphasises the jacket more.
For added texture, I decided to pair the combo with a layered stripe box tee from Topshop, again to focus the attention on the top half of the outfit. Therefore the rest of the outfit is toned down with a classic pair of Chelsea Boots and black skinny jeans.
2 | 90's NOSTALGIA
|| Crop top - Topshop | Jeans - Topshop | Shoes - Kitson | Bag - Topshop | Jewellery - A Market ||
3 | HOT TROPICS
|| Dress - Zara | Shoes - TOMS | Watch - Casio | Bag - FatFace | Belt - Thrifted ||
Accessories wise, I kept it low key with a simple silver watch and white belt. By keeping the jewellery simple, the statement of the outfit comes from the dress and jacket, whilst also making sure the outfit is not a chaotic clash of prints and bling!
To finish off any summer outfit, it had to be paired with a pair of espadrilles! My TOMS university striped ones work perfectly with the outfit and are integrated well with the navy colour translated in the stitched detail on the black satchel.
4 | FESTIVAL TREKKER
|| Top - Topshop | Shorts - New Look | Shoes - Topshop | Bag - Topshop | Garland - A Festival ||
Embracing the trend of CAT boots this summer, I added my own trekking-esque boots and matching rucksack to the look. Finally, it wouldn't be festival style without a floral garland! I chose a pink floral garland, which would pick out the pinks in the top.
5 | CITY BREAK
|| Shirt - Vintage | Skirt - River Island | Bag - Thrifted | Shoes - Converse | Watch - River Island | Rings - Accessorize ||
As chic is usually black, I chose a black bag but teamed with gold jewellery to add a subtle statement to the outfit. Keeping it casual the final piece needed is a pair of black converse and the outfit is prêt-à-porter!
